The i48 is a multi-node modular server designed for new high-density data center applications. It meets the open computing multi-node server standard of the Open Data Center Committee (ODCC). Two to eight dual-socket computing nodes based on  the latest Intel Whitley processors can be placed in a typical 4U rack to accommodate diversified business needs and support  mixed deployment of different types of nodes. i48 features high density, efficiency, reliability, and intelligence in a limited space. Its superior expandability makes it more suitable for all-scenario solutions such as virtualization, high-performance computing, big data analysis, mass storage, CDN, hyper-convergence.

  • Extreme Computing and Storage Density

    1. Up to 8 NS5480M6 computing nodes can be deployed in a 4U rack, which is 4 times the deployment density of a standard 2U rack server, addressing the large-scale compute pooling requirements of high-density data centers. 

    2. By leveraging the storage node  NS5486M6 and the drive bay NS5486JD, 72 large-capacity drives can be deployed in a 4U rack to meet massive storage needs.

  • I/O Balance, Enhanced Performance

    1. The I/O ports are evenly distributed on two CPUs to maximize the  application efficiency of the NUMA architecture and reduce response  latency. Thus, the overall performance is improved by over 20%.  

    2. To satisfy the strict requirements of large-scale service data  transmission, each high-density node offers a maximum of 6 PCIe  slots and a 4U 8-node server offers a maximum of 48 PCIe slots.

    1. i48M6 adopts a fully modular design for the chassis, node, front and rear I/O, management module, and integrated network.

    3. The innovative drive drawer tray and robust slide rails greatly improve maintenance convenience. 

    4. The separate drive bays decrease the impact of disk resonance and ensure the data security.
