The FS8500 series is a Fiber Channel (FC) switch designed for small and independent SANs. With a cost-effective and high-performance scalable design, it can be gradually scaled from 8 ports to 24 ports according to service requirements. It is specifically designed to reduce enterprise SAN costs, improve the ease of use of IT architecture, and simplify management, the FS8500 series is a cost-effective choice for network expansion.
Hardware Feature | Number of ports per switch: • A maximum of twenty-four 32 Gbps ports (8, 16 and 24 ports can be configured at an increment of 8 ports) • Multiple FC protocols such as 32 Gb and 16 Gb • Adaptive Trunking, intelligent path selection • All ports are universal, auto-discovery, and self-configured, presenting the following port status: E_Port, F_Port, M_Port, D_Port, N_Port |
Performance Feature | Fabric port speed • 32/16 Gbps, with all ports being auto-negotiation ports • Fabric latency: ≤ 900 ns (including FEC) • Cut-through routing fabric: point-to-point bandwidth Aggregate bandwidth • Up to 768 Gbps per switch, end-to-end full duplex • Non-blocking architecture |
Software Feature | Visualized GUI: • LEDs for key components, web-based management interface, and fault location message Multiple management methods: • Telnet, HTTP, SNMP v1/v3 (FE MIB, FC Management MIB); auditing, syslog, change management tracking; SMI-S compliant; SMI-S script toolkit, administrative domains; trial licenses for selected plug-in capabilities |
Physical Feature | • Power supply: 90 VAC to 264 VAC, with a maximum input current of 2.2 A • Power consumption: Nominal 55.83 W; up to 76.52 W with 24 × 32 Gbps port (full configuration) • Dimensions (W × H × D): 1U, 429 × 43 × 307 mm (16.89 × 1.69 × 12.09 in.) • Weight: 5.75 kg (12.68 lbs), without SFP+ media |
