FS8900

FS8900 FC storage switch is built to provide flexibility, scalability, and ease of use. By leveraging 96 SFP+ ports and 8 QSFP ports, enterprises can expand an efficient 2U switch from 48 ports to 128 ports. In addition, the simplified deployment process and point-and-click user interface make FS8900 easy to use.

96 SFP+ ports capable of operating at 4/8/16/32 Gbps Fiber Channel auto-negotiation speeds; 8 QSFP ports capable of operating at 4×32/4×16/4×8/4×4 Gbps Fiber Channel speeds.

Offers a basic configuration of 48 ports, two 24-port SFP+ Ports on Demand (PoD), and one 32-port QSFP PoD. The switch has a total of eight 32 Gbps QSPF ports.

Performance Feature

Fiber Channel: 4.25 Gbps wire speed, full duplex; 8.5 Gbps wire speed, full duplex; 14.025 Gbps wire speed, full duplex; 28.05 Gbps wire speed, full duplex; port rate of 4/8/16/32 Gbps (auto-negotiation). The QSFP ports are capable of auto-negotiating to 4 × 32 Gbps, 4 × 16 Gbps, 4 × 8 Gbps, and 4 × 4 Gbps speeds.

ISL Trunking: Frame-based trunking with up to eight 32 Gbps connections between a pair of switches combined to form a single logical ISL with a speed of up to 256 Gbps (512 Gbps full duplex) per ISL trunk. Exchange-based load balancing across ISLs with DPS included in Fabric OS. On the QSFP ports, 256 Gbps trunks are supported by trunking 2 × (4 × 32 Gbps) QSFP ports.
